Religious-ethical and philosophical fraternity was by Pythagorus in VI B.C. As a political party propagated anti-democratic and aristocratic politics in South Italy. This fraternity distinguished severe custom, strict discipline, carried on ascetic life, proclaimed the community of property.

In  V B.C. they were persecuted by democrats, but existed  until the beginning of IV B.C.

The fraternity was the focus of mathematic findings, discovered incommensuratility and knew irrational number. They discovered that height of tone of a string depends on its length. They knew about sphericity of Earth. Pythagorean influenced development of sciences (mathematics, music, medicine and astronomy). They promoted the flowering of idealism and figures mysticism (cabbalism).

“Pythagorean” was carved from boxwood. This raw had been drying for more than thirty years.
